History

In May 1957, the company was founded as a shell molding foundry under the name New Jersey Shell Casting Corporation. It operated as such until 1961 and was incorporated under the laws of the State of New Jersey, as Joe Nagy, the founder, lived there at the time.

The facility, located on South Decatur Street in Marietta, PA, was initially rented from the U.S. Expansion Bolt Company in 1957 and was later purchased on December 9, 1965.

In 1962, the company underwent a significant transformation, transitioning into a non-ferrous foundry specializing in bronze, brass, and aluminum green sand-molding. The company continues to operate in this capacity to this day.

In 1982, William Nagy, Sr. retired as president of New Jersey Shell but remained CEO until his passing in 1999.

In June 1978, William Nagy, Jr. joined the company full time, becoming the third generation of the Nagy family to work at the company.

In April 2010, William Nagy Jr.’s daughter, Ashley Hallacher, began working full time at New Jersey Shell, continuing the family’s legacy and becoming the fourth generation involved in the business.

In January 2024, following the passing of William Nagy Jr., Ashley Hallacher purchased the business from his estate, ensuring the company’s continued future under her leadership.
